My Realizations after Reading the Little Prince

(REFLECTION)





After reading the novel about The Little Prince, I could tell that the story it contains is very much meaningful, wonderful and it lets us know and realize what kind of personalities each one of us has. Also, the story is very much true in real life. By reading it slowly, I learned more things and understands the true meaning of life. There are many things that I realized based on the story and reasons to change our way of expressing our personalities.

Each person that the Little Prince encountered represents different aspect of life. It illustrates the life that we humans are doing in the present here on planet Earth. Here are the following things that I have learned in the book after I read the story:

One must not judge a person according to his own will. If you’re the one who’s been judge you will also feel angry.

We should not be afraid to commit mistakes and accept people’s comments and opinions towards us.

I will not run away from my problems because if I run away from my problems, the situation will become more complicated and it’s harder to solve but instead I will face it honestly.

Don’t aim to be the richest man on earth.

In following orders one must do it and understand what you are doing.

In choosing the right friends, one must not see only to his physical appearance but with ones inner personalities and attitude towards everything.

You can never be a king to somebody or you can’t own a person.

Grown-ups must listen and understand what the children are trying to tell them.

Don’t try to be like the conceited man, they like to be admired in everything that they do even if what they are doing is not good and very far to see. As a result, they never learn and grow. They don’t even know that their mistakes can make them their downfall. They cannot change their own mistakes for the reason that they don’t accept mistakes.

Don’t force someone to understand and obey you immediately.

Don’t try to influence someone especially if your influencing is not good.

You cannot say that a house is beautiful just because it is expensive. The important is what’s inside of that house that you can stay safe.

For me, the Little Prince is a book which we can reflect and can lessen our mistakes. It inspires me so much that I can help myself improve and make my mistakes right. Also, one of the important things I learned and realized is that we still need the opinions of other people even if it can hurt our feelings but it is the truth and we need to accept it. That’s what I learned and realized after reading the novel of the Little Prince.

ANSWERS:
A. The king was the one who uttered the line "one must require from each one the duty which each one can perform". The real life significance of this line is that when a person has a duty, he or she must do it by himself and he or she should not pass it to another person. Or he must share the duty given to her.
B. The meaning of the sentence "it is more difficult to judge oneself than to judge others" is that you cannot easily judge or decide for yourself or you are confused. You also need to think the right decision in judging oneself while if you judge others it is easy for you because you dictate what you want to say.
C. It means that conceited people just accept peoples praise to them. They feel that they are perfect and they won't answer peoples comments towards them. NO.
D. The irony of the line "I am drinking so that i may forget " is that he wants to forget something miserable that happened in his life. Yes, finding someone else as a replace for the old once.
E. The business man want to become rich because he wants to buy more stars if any are discovered. The character is related to real life people by negotiating to have lots of money.
F. It means that whenever they hear orders they must obey it directly and they do not need to think and understand. Its real life significance is that we people must first understand that we are trying to do before we obey what is the order.
G. The little prince percieve the character of the lamplighter by asking and watching him while the lamplighter lighted and unlit the lamp and he is thinking of something else besides himself. Yes, because when you talk to a person fopr a long time you can identify his or her personality.
H. The truth about adults that the goegrapher represents is that an honest and clear-minded person gives the most clear and real informations while if a person doesn't have enough knowledge, the person can't give clear informations or idea. The geographer represent this truth about adults by telling an example about thier characteristics.
I. The pilot describe planet earth as not an ordinary planet. I can describe the planet earth as a big
planet, has lots of things inside it and there's the mother nature.
J. The snake made him say those statements because the little prince said that the snake is no thicker than a finger and so that he could give more informations and the snake want to tell the little prince that he is more powerful.
K. The truth about life reflected on chapter 18 is that people have no permanent position in life. They go anywhere without any purpose in life and it makes life difficult for them.

A. The pilot did not continue his drawing and at the age of six he gave up what might have been a magnificent career as a painter. Adults should treat children like they should not act that they need explanation for all the things that the children will ask them.
B. The pilot finally draw the exact sheep wanted by the little prince when his patience was exhausting him and because he was in a hurry to start taking his engine apart. It tells me that when the pilot is irritated he can exactly do what the person will let him do.
C. Because he was in turkish costume. It tells me that grown ups need elegant costumes when presenting something they always want proper outfits.
D. Adults describe that a house is beautiful when the house cost much or expensive. This tells me that adults are attracted in expensive things. They dont care if the house is cheap. They dont think that even how small the house is the important is that they have a shelter or home to live in.
E. A baobabs is something that you will never, never be able to get rid of if you attend to it too late. It spreads over the entire planet and it bores clear through it with its roots. It reflects the aspect of life by taking all the obstacles the moment you get out of your bed.
F. The little prince react when the pilot replied ''matters of great consequence'' by staring at him and said that the pilot talks like the grown ups. the little prince react that way because the pilot was confusing everything.
G. It means that a place is lonely, quiet and very sad. Its the land were tears are shed apart.
H. The aspect of life reflected by the volcanoes is that its like the earth that bring no end of trouble upon us.
I. The one who said that i must endure the presence of two or three caterpillarsif i wish to become acquainted eith the butterflies is the flower. The significant message implied is that the flower would like to enjoy her life.
J. The context behind the line and the shown characteristics on the statement is thatthe flower is sorry and because she want to tell something before the little prince leave. This is seen on real life as apologizing to someone who is leaving.
K. I can describe the little prince and the flower as bestfriends.
